Maharashtra continued to witness high number of coronavirus cases on Friday. At least 8,333 people tested positive for the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours. The eastern state has been reporting over 8,000 daily COVID-19 cases for the last two days. With this, the active number of coronavirus patients in the state rose to 67,608.

Mahrashtra has been severely affected by coronavirus pandemic. The cases have been on a rise in the last few daySeveral districts have announced stringent lockdowns and curfews to prevent the virus surge.
