The Youth Congress took to observing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on Friday as the ‘National Unemployment Day’ while party leaders said the mass vaccination programme on September 17 is “headline management”.
Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate said, “The mass vaccination programme on PM Modi’s birthday is nothing but headline management. During floods, people are suffering but we see BJP leaders playing musical instruments on boats to praise the PM. This should be condemned.”— Srinivas BV (@srinivasiyc) September 17, 2021
While greeting PM Narendra Modi as he turned 71, Shrinate further said, “Chacha Nehru’s birthday is celebrated as Bal Diwas, Atal Ji’s birthday as good governance day. But how should PM Modi’s birthday be celebrated? If we look around, all we see is unemployed youth.”
“We see the common man struggling with inflation, patients gasping due to lack of oxygen, and central agencies following the BJP agenda,” said the Congress leader.
Meanwhile, the Indian Youth Congress has declared it will celebrate Prime Minister Modi's birthday on Friday as the ‘National Unemployment Day’ against the rising unemployment across India.
“PM Modi had promised 2 crore jobs each year but there are 61 lakh posts in the Centre and state governments that are lying vacant. No wonder the youth is observing today as unemployment day,” Shrinate said.
On the other hand, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday with a tweet saying "Happy birthday, Modi ji."
