Kerala are now top of the Elite Group C points table with 12 points from three games followed by Karnataka, Railways and UP who all have eight points from as many games.
Uthappa, who had scored 81 and 107 in the previous games, shared a 193-run opening stand with
(107 off 107 balls; 5x4, 4x6) who hit his maiden List-A century as Kerala totalled 351/6 with Sanju Samson's rapid 61 off 29 balls (6x4, 4x6) playing no lesser role. Railways mounted a spirited challenge but were eventually all out for 344 in 49.4 overs.
Uthappa went past Yashpal Singh of Services who has 10 Vijay Hazare centuries to his name during his record-breaking effort. This was Uthappa's 16th ton in all List-A games. After the opening stand between Uthappa and Vishnu was broken, Sanju ensured there was no respite for the Railways bowlers as he smashed his 14th List-A half-century in a jiffy. Vathal Govind also provided a late thrust to Kerala's innings with 46 off 34 balls.
Four batsmen got half-centuries for Railways but MD Nidheesh held his nerves for Kerala in a close finish taking three wickets (3/83).
