Bihar BJP MLA Arun Kumar Sinha has admitted that the rise in cases of crime in the state was a matter of serious concern and said he would write to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar apprising him of his views.

Arun Kumar Sinha, BJP MLA from Kumhrar in Patna said despite being a public representative from the treasury bench he had no qualms in admitting that law and order situation in Bihar has worsened.

"Law and order situation is of concern in the state and I will write a letter to Nitish Kumar demanding that administration should become more pro-active", said Arun Sinha.

The BJP legislator's admission regarding the law and order situation in Bihar comes a day after three BJP MLAs- Pawan Jaiswal, Vinay Bihari and Sanjay Saraogi demanded that Uttar Pradesh model of encounter should be replicated in Bihar to control crime.

The remarks came in the backdrop of three incidents of murders that shocked Bihar this week. An LIC officer was beaten to death in Nalanda. A woman was shot in Patna after she protested molestation of her daughter. And, a ward member was killed in Chhapra in the Saran district of Bihar.

AIMIM MLA Akhtar-ul-Iman on Friday went on to say that despite being a legislator he did not feel secure in the state.

"Despite being a legislator I live in fear. Daughters in Bihar and public representatives are living under fear. Common people are not only fearing criminals but also the police. Police is not being able to provide security to the common man", said AIMIM MLA Akhtar-ul-Iman

On the other hand, Bihar Minister Shahnawaz Hussain has claimed that Nitish Kumar's model of governance was best suited in Bihar to control crime.

"Nitish Kumar has never compromised with crime and criminals. There is a rule of law in Bihar. Incidents of crime in Bihar is much less than in other states", said Bihar Minister Shahnawaz Hussain
